Trauma Therapist in Hopkins, Minnesota Rediscover Calm

When You’re Carrying More Than Anyone Sees

As a trauma therapist I see many of the people who find their way here are doing their best to get through the day while feeling tense, tired, or disconnected underneath it all. You may wake already bracing, move through your responsibilities on autopilot, and reach the end of the day without feeling restored.

It is possible to feel more connected

Even when life looks “fine” from the outside, your body has a hard time settling. You understand your patterns, yet something inside you still feels on guard. If you’re a parent, this often shows up in tense mornings, draining transitions, and big emotions that escalate quickly. You want to stay steady and supportive, but exhaustion makes it harder, and you may end the day replaying moments, wondering if you handled them well.

Morning routines can feel calm

There’s Nothing Wrong With You

I want you to know this: you are not broken, and neither is your child. These patterns are often shaped by stress, trauma, attachment experiences, or nervous systems that learned to stay on high alert in order to cope.

What Life Can Begin to Feel Like With a Trauma Therapist in Hopkins, Minnesota

As your nervous system begins to feel safer, life starts to feel steadier for you or your child.

That constant edge softens. Your body does not have to stay on guard in the same way. Hard moments still happen, but they no longer spiral or linger the way they once did.

For parents, connection becomes more accessible. You respond to big emotions with greater steadiness.

Repair feels possible after conflict. Your child feels safer coming to you, and you feel more confident staying present without losing yourself.

Over time, trust grows. Not just in your relationships, but within yourself. You feel more anchored, more secure, and less pulled into old patterns of bracing or shutting down.

The change is gradual, but it is lasting

Hello!

I’m Anna, Your Trauma Therapist

A Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor (LPCC) and neurodivergent trauma therapist. My work is grounded in the belief that healing begins with safety in the body. I offer trauma-informed, nervous-system-focused therapy for children, teens, adults, and families, supporting regulation, connection, and emotional ease before pushing for change.

Why This Work Matters to Me

My path into this work began early. Growing up with a brother who has developmental disabilities meant living in a home where stress, overwhelm, and dysregulation were often present. Our family did the best we could, but I saw firsthand how deeply nervous system stress impacts not just one person, but the entire family system.

I also witnessed the powerful role that attuned, supportive professionals can play in restoring balance and hope. These experiences shaped my respect for family systems and my commitment to creating therapeutic spaces rooted in safety, understanding, and compassion.

my philosophy

As a Trauma Therapist I believe in…

𑁍 Blending Eastern and Western practices
I integrate Eastern philosophies such as mindfulness, meditation, and body-based awareness with Western, evidence-based therapies.

𑁍 Somatic and nervous-system-focused
My work includes somatic and body-based approaches—such as Transforming Touch®—to support regulation and healing beyond words.

𑁍 Gentle, attuned, and collaborative
Sessions are paced intentionally, honoring each person’s nervous system, readiness, and lived experience.

𑁍 Rooted in empathy and deep listening
I believe in the power of empathy and attunement to foster healing, connection, and a felt sense of being understood—both with oneself and in relationship.

𑁍 Honoring resilience and capacity for growth
I hold a deep respect for the resilience within each person and their ability to grow through self-awareness, self-compassion, and kindness.

𑁍 Safety before change
I don’t believe healing comes from forcing insight or fixing what feels wrong. I believe lasting change happens when the body feels safe enough to let go.

𑁍Healing as an ongoing process
Therapy is not about reaching a final destination, but about supporting a meaningful journey toward greater balance, inner peace, and connection over time.

What Shapes My Work Outside the Therapy Room

Outside of the therapy room, I find grounding and restoration in many of the same practices I encourage clients to explore. I believe deeply in the healing power of nature and enjoy yoga, meditation, hiking, travel, and snowboarding as ways to reconnect with the body and the present moment.

I value time spent with family and friends, and I’m often accompanied by my cat, Shiloh, who is a daily reminder of the regulating power of connection, routine, and rest.

If daily routines feel chaotic, power struggles are constant, or you’re unsure how to support your child’s big emotions, you’re not alone. Somatic Therapy

When stress or trauma feels stored in the body and talking alone hasn’t brought relief, somatic therapy can help. Transforming Touch® (TEB) is a gentle, body based approach that supports nervous system regulation through safety, attunement, and connection. This allows healing to unfold without force and at a pace that feels supportive, steady, and respectful of the body’s natural process of integration and regulation.

Play Therapy

If your child is having frequent meltdowns, anxiety, or emotional shutdowns, play therapy can help. Through play, children explore emotions, build coping skills, and strengthen their sense of safety and autonomy in a way that feels natural and supportive. Play therapy also allows children to express experiences that may be difficult to put into words while developing confidence, emotional understanding, and regulation skills.

Attachment Trauma

If relationships feel difficult, emotions feel overwhelming, or you notice patterns of people pleasing, shutdown, fear of abandonment, or difficulty feeling safe with others, you’re not alone. Attachment trauma therapy helps explore how early experiences shape patterns of connection, emotional regulation, and safety within relationships while supporting healing and more secure connection.

Anxiety Therapy

If your mind feels like it never slows down, you struggle with overthinking, overwhelm, or constant worry, you’re not alone. Anxiety therapy helps support nervous system regulation, emotional balance, and coping skills while creating greater understanding, steadiness, and ease in daily life.
